Call for Abstracts – Special Session on Alpine Karst
The NSS Convention is accepting abstracts for a special session on Research and Exploration in Alpine Karst at the 2018 NSS Convention, to be held July 28 – August 3, 2018 in Helena, Montana. This year the Convention takes place in an area that focuses on alpine caves; thus, a special half-day session on research and exploration in karst in alpine terrains is being organized. Submissions are open for oral presentations in any of the earth sciences that involve current or recent research related to caves and karst in alpine terrains, including geology, hydrology, geomorphology, speleogenesis, mineralogy, biology, and paleontology. The talks should be a maximum of 20 minutes, including time for questions.
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words in length (this limit must be strictly met). In addition to the text, the abstracts should contain the title of the paper, and the name(s), address(es), and email address(es) of the author(s). The abstracts should be informative summaries that include results and (or) conclusions, not lists of topics that "...will be discussed." Bibliographies and references should not be given in the abstracts.
Please email any questions to:
The deadline for abstracts is May 15, 2018. Early submissions are encouraged. A confirmation will be sent to everyone sending an abstract. Details on presentation times, dates, and other information will be sent to all confirmed participants after the deadline. For online details about the convention, visit: http://nss2018.caves.org/
